MICHAEL HUTCHISON – MARCUS BUCKINGHAM ON CREDIBILITY LIVE

My guest a few weeks back was Marcus Buckingham.

“Average managers play checkers. Great managers play chess,” said Marcus Buckingham  from his office in Beverly Hills.

He is a NY Times Bestselling author and leader of the Strengths Revolution.
Here are the results of an assessment I took with him. I thought the following would be valuable for you to know my strengths:

YOU ARE A FUTURIST.

You come alive when envisaging possibility. Of course, your strength is not only about connecting the right people to achieve those possibilities but also about connecting the right ideas, likely in ways that have never been considered before. If you’re not leading the drive to realize your idea, you’re introducing people from disparate backgrounds, showing them how their combined talents and products could produce game-changing innovations. You value innovation so highly that you need constant exposure to streams of cool ideas, and their originators. And while you’re not as attached to seeing the ideas actually come to fruition, you love getting in at ground zero so you can tell the story of “I was there when…”
What I have learned from Marcus is the importance of asking yourself and your team:

Do I do what I love best every day at work?

When you watch my interview with Marcus, here’s what you’ll learn:

  • How to make your personal talents work for your professional life
  • How to find your personal edge and achieve your business goals
  • Make an immediate impact in your work
  • How to win as a leader, manager, salesperson, or contributor to a team
