#4 KEY - MOMENTUM

Hello my friend, it’s Michael Hutchison again.

Welcome! to another SOS! message on Being Confident & Thriving, in Turbulent Times.

You now have all 4 videos in the Confidence Series. You are Almost home. I am proud of you!

My SOS! message this week is the fourth requirement to being confident, which is momentum. That’s right, Momentum is the 4th Key to your Confidence.

When you stop having any momentum in your life you often feel lost, confused or down. You start losing that connection with your strength and yourself.

So to turn that around, you have to take more action to develop more confidence. That means you have to say, “What is it I truly want,” and then start moving towards it on a consistent basis, yes even before you know the whole plan.

My friend and mentor Tony Robbins says: it is in your moments of decisions that your destiny is shaped. And I say, Tony that’s true and I love you and a lot of people for example decide to lose weight. A lot of people decide to be a loving spouse. A lot of people decide to do something good.

But they don’t. They do not take the action necessary and follow through.

That’s why I say:

It’s your disciplined and consistent actions, your habits. Your consistent habits. Those habits, are your destiny.

Often, some of the best decisions in your life come, after you have momentum at something and then you’ve gained some more perspective.

But a lot of you are waiting for the perfect plan, the perfect time to take a cruise, the perfect person to join your team, the perfect thing to pursue your goals or your dreams.

It’s that waiting that often reduces your confidence. Why? Because, you’re focused externally, you’re dependent on the whim of the world that you do not control. Maybe you will get lucky and that person joins your team, maybe the funding comes through, whatever it is.

You have to, instead, say, “What can I do to begin this? What can I do now to get started?” Because, even if you begin and you’re not sure, you don’t have to know the whole path.

Sometimes the whole stairway is not illuminated until you take that first step, right? It’s like what my friend Les Brown says: Leap and the net will appear. It’s that first step and then the staircase emerges, then you can see. So as soon as you take that first step, that says in your mind, “Hey, you know what, I took a step. Good for me,” and then you start making better and better decisions, because you’re able to see more.

Often you don’t know where you’re going in life until you start walking, jogging or in my case running towards something. Still just run in place, run somewhere, but as soon as you run things open up to you and you say oh, look at this, look at that, look at this.

People often say, “I wish I had more vision for my life, Michael.” I say, “It’s hard to have vision for your life, if you’ve never seen anything.” Get outside of the box you are in, turn off the TV, turn off the computer, go on a cruise vacation and see the world.

When you do, you’ll gain a little bit more vision and with more vision and momentum towards the things you want, you will have more confidence.

Let’s summarize the 1st 4 videos.

So #1 it begins with deciding. You do not need anything more to be confident than making this positive decision.

And if you do need something, go with #2 honest and integrity. Be more of who you truly are. Chase what you truly desire.

#3 Be smart enough to know that you must develop more competency at the things you’re interested in. More competency equals more confidence.

#4 You must realize, there is no reason in the world that you cannot, yourself, with very simple actions, gain more momentum. More momentum more progress, more progress more confidence. Got it?

Thank you! for sharing these videos around the world.

I'll talk to you soon.
