#3 KEY - COMPETENCE

Hello my friend, it’s Michael Hutchison again.

Welcome to another SOS message, on Being Confident & Thriving, in Turbulent Times.

As a practical resource for you, I am gifting you the 3rd Key to being confident. You are more than halfway through this confidence video series. Thumbs up!

Btw, thank you for all the love, the Direct Messages, and the appreciation you have been sending on social media. I'm grateful I can share these tips with you, because I want to be here for you.

The #3 Key is becoming Competent.

Psychologists often call it the confidence-competence loop.

Here’s what that means: As you become better and more in something you are learning how to do it, you’re more confident in doing it.

For example, as you learn how to deliver the Simple Company Presentation, and you deliver presentations more and more, you became more skilled at it. You develop more confidence in your ability to deliver the presentation.

Here’s my coaching: When you go into a situation for the first time, be okay with being uncertain. Be comfortable with being uncomfortable. Be comfortable with not knowing how it’s going to turn out, because this is your first time. As a reminder, anything new is hard in the beginning. It gets messier. And then finally, it is done and beautiful.

So go Stub your toe and stumble into your inCruises business anyway, because when you stumble and fall, you get back up and develop more skill. Remember: this is how I have built my career. I have tried and failed. I have been knocked down. I get up. I dust myself off. I FIGURE OUT WHAT WORKS. I go forward. I learn. I grow. I become more competent. I become more confident.

Nothing changed in who you are. What changes is your level of competency, knowledge, skill and ability. That’s what competency is… knowledge, skill, and your ability.

So, when you finally realize,

“I just need to do and learn a little more here and I’ll be more confident. I just need to apply this a little bit more here and I’ll be more confident.”

As you develop skills and abilities in your life with inCruises, you become more confident.

Ok, I continue to Cheer you on! to let you know that right now, it's difficult. It's hard. And the good thing is, we're all getting better. We are learning every day. We are experiencing more confidence together.

Thank you for sharing these videos around the world!

I'll talk to you soon.
